Attractive Antique Victorian Arts & Crafts Oak Mirror Back Hall Coat Stick Stand

  
A lovely large carved oak hall stand. We date this hall stand to the second half of the 19th century. The hall stand has oblong section legs at the front on square feet, whilst the panel legs at the back from the back support. The legs are braced with a base shelf housing two metal drip trays over a carved apron. The hall stand has a shapely top cornice. The top section of the hall stand features six double hooks arranged two to each outside panel and one to each inside edge. There is a large central bevelled mirror which sits above a decorative carved panel and a central drawer. The space between the drawer and side rails provides housing for umbrellas, walking sticks etc. The hall stand has a height of 78.5" (200cm) a width of 42" (107cm) inc hooks and a depth of 13 (33cm). This lovely large Victorian carved oak hall stand remains in very good solid condition with a few minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some minor indents to the edges and slight foxing to the mirror. The hooks have been replaced at some time in the past and there has been another hook on the sides at the top. The metal trays show some wear from past use. This remains a stylish large Victorian oak hall stand. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
