LOTS OF AMAZING CHAIRS AND OTHER GREAT ITEMS. For sale here is this pair of genuine vintage Czech 1940s/50's Lounge Armchairs. This pair of chairs have got some issues with the fabric there are no holes but they are 70 years old and the material has been steam cleaned but. There are still some marks on the fabric. So they are an perfect candidate for recovering. The springs are good the frames are very strong and the arms are a nice honey wood colour. And it shouldnt cost you that much. Due to I demand, Covid and Brexit these are becoming more expensive and more difficult to get hold off, I basically have to pay twice as much for these now as I paid two years ago. This fantastic looking pair of mid century armchairs were made in The Czech republic sometime in the 1950's.

We bought them in Prague last month. I often get asked if These are genuine HALABALA chairs? Jindrich Halabala was a professor of design and architecture in Prague and was a giant in European furniture design in the 1930s and 40s. He strived to produce attractive looking furniture that was high quality and well made and he pioneered a technique and designed the machinery to bend large pieces of wood using steam and rollers.

They are a fantastic looking pair of chairs which ever angle you look at them from, the outstanding design feature of these chairs is the use of one single. Large piece of bentwood to make up the Long hope that makes up there arm.... This is the only design of chair that I can think of that does this with one single length of bentwood. They are in good condition.

Apart from issues with the material , please refer to pictures and above. Turn off one ortwo small old cracks in the arms, this would is steam bent and its quite common for the small forks to hear but they will not get any worse than they are. Also the arms might be a little bit wobbly but this is not a problem as they tighten up with bolts so this can be rectified during the re-upholstery. Please check all the pictures carefully.
