ULTRA Rare 1940`s WW2 German Air Force-issue D Alpina 592 Vintage Gents Watch

  

The original official watch for the Luftwaffe, made in the 1940s in Switzerland. A distinctive feature is the letter "D" on the back cover.

The Reich ordered watches according to a certain set specification. The Wehrmacht's mandatory requirements for military watches were: a black dial with luminous markers / numbers and hands, easy-to-read simple Arabic numerals, a screw-down steel case back with moisture protection, an anchor mechanism on 15 jewels with a shockproof device. All these features are well illustrated in this watch. The body is chrome-plated, the condition is good, the chrome-plating was restored many years ago. Steel screwed lid, numbered, "Alpina Edelstahl Boden" pierced inside. Diameter without crown 32 mm. Width with crown 34 mm.

Height over the ears 39.5 mm. Black military dial with Arabic numerals, signed "Alpina". Alpina caliber 592, hand-wound Swiss escapement, 15 ruby stones, Incabloc balance shaft shock absorber. Good condition, professionally maintained and lubricated, adjusted for hand wear.
